St.James General Store is an historic institution located within the Deepwells Farm Historic Park boundaries.This National Historic Landmark has been in continuous operation since it was built in 1857 by Ebenezer Smith. It held St James' first post office. It is considered to be the most authentic general store in the United States.

What a gem of a place! I stumbled upon this store while exploring the town, and I'm so glad I did. They have everything from household essentials to quirky gifts. I particularly enjoyed browsing the vintage items; it felt like stepping back in time! The staff was genuinely welcoming and knowledgeable, offering great recommendations. The only downside is that the store can get a bit crowded during peak hours, but it's totally worth it. I can't wait to come back and discover more unique finds!
